Courage

Courage is often described as being fearless. But if you ask me I wouldn't say so. For me, courage is not about being fearless but to get through the fear.Courage is simply the willingness to be afraid and act anyway.Courage is about going forward inspite of your inner fears. It is also about having strength in the face of pain and grief. To face challenges with a determination to not allow your fears to shape your life.

For me, courage is also about being honest. Honest with others and with ourselves. It's about self reflection. One must be courage enough to look into themselves and accept their fears and imperfections. Everyone is imperfect and most often we are afraid of not being perfect in other's eyes.Courage is accepting the fact that you're imperfect. Fearless to look into our weakness and coping with it even in the hardest times. It's about understanding ourselves and clearing any mythical doubts about us.It is to face defeats, maybe numerous and consecutive, without losing our heart. To me, courage is about having a character and independent of making decisions.

Being courageous does not mean to be intolerant or ignorant. It's about wisdom. It's about the ability to distinguish between right and wrong and choosing right from the choices.

Courage is not only about taking risks but also about avoiding the wrong ones. That is where wisdom fits in.To get along the right path and stay focused against the temptations and provocations. Backing off from a wrong choice is not cowardice but it takes a courageous mind to make the right choices even when the whole world is against you.

As Thomas Jefferson once said "One man with courage is a majority".
