My Top 10 Sci-fi movies!! 🛸👾⏳

Rewatching "Interstellar" the other day made me wonder about which are the best sci-fi or space or time travelling movies which impressed me the most. It's always hard to pick favourites among your favourites. Nevertheless, succumbing to the natural curiosity, inbred in humans, I decided to make the list anyway. 

So, here are 10 of my most favourite sci-fi/space travel/time travel movies ( in no particular order ).

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey : Arguably the best sci-fi ever made. 

Dir: Stanley Kubrick

2. Solaris : A masterpiece from the master which transcends the genre. 

Dir : Andrei Tarkovsky

3. Blade Runner : Another masterpiece which has more meaning and importance than the theme discussed.

Dir : Ridley Scott

4. Interstellar : Probably, the most groundbreaking movie of the genre in the 21st century. Hans Zimmer's music is equally important as Chris Nolan's genius for this modern day masterpiece.

Dir : Christopher Nolan

5. Blade Runner 2049 : Underrated would be an understatement for this visual and philosophical marvel. A worthy successor to the previous one.

Dir : Denis Villeneuve

6. Primer : Criminally underrated. It might take multiple watching to grasp what's going on. But, it's totally worth it.

7. Inception : Leo DiCaprio + Christopher Nolan + Hans Zimmer. Need anything more?

8. Planet of the Apes : There are only very few movies which actually left me with my mouth gaping in awe as this one.

Dir : Franklin J. Schaffner

9. Gravity : No other movie has made me scared of the silence and loneliness as this one. 

Dir: Alfonso Cuarón

10. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind : Probably, the most sweetest and most relatable of the lot mentioned here.

Dir: Michel Gondry

Honourable mentions : 12 Monkeys, Back to the Future, The Martian, Predestination & Timecrimes. (And a lot more, actually. 😏)
